Ellis Engineered was established in 2012 by Brett Ellis, an expert in the engineering of composite structures for the Marine, Automotive and Civil/Architectural markets.

Brett has been a key team member in five America’s Cup campaigns. The first two campaigns with the powerful Swiss Team Alinghi, then Luna Rossa Challenge, Artemis Racing and finally INEOS Team UK for the 36th America’s Cup to be held in New Zealand. The America’s Cup is a design, build and race competition for sailing teams and is the oldest sporting trophy in the world, dating back to 1851. Today, the America’s Cup is the F1 of sailing, making use of aerospace grade pre-preg carbon fibres, aluminium honeycomb cores and additive manufacturing for the construction of today’s lightweight racing yachts.
