Congratulations to Shaun Carroll and his crew on Morticia for finishing the toughest Caribbean 600 in the events 10 year history. Morticia was the smallest entry in the race at just 30ft long. This years competitors experienced 30-40knot winds, storms cells and a significant sea state and as a consequence there were 34 retirements from a starting fleet of 84.
Ellis Engineered have been working with the Morticia Sailing team on various modifications to the Seacart 30 including new front float beams to support the additional loads imposed by the ‘C’ foils. The pre-preg carbon fibre beams were built at Van Munster Boats, Australia.
